Private Fraser (“Scotty") Munro, of Wanganui, is a prisoner of war. according to advice received from the Vatican. Mr Albert Fisher, the pioneer automobile manufacturer, has died at. the age of 78, according to a cable message from Detroit. Booth, who has been on overseas service, has returned to New Zealand on furlough. At the outbreak of war Captain Booth was on the permanent military staff in Wanganui. Sergt.-Pilot Paul M. Bartrum is now safely in Australia, after being in Singapore and Java, according to a cable message received by his mother. Mrs. O. B. Bartrum, BtH Street, Wanganui. Mr. Louis Johnson, who is heading the mission to India, will be the personal representative of the President, with the rank of Minister in India states a cablegram from Washington. Pastor Godfrey Fretwell, at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Ministers’ Association, was elected president in place of Rev. A. C. McLean, M.A., who retired from the office. Rev. C. E. Dickens was reelected secretary. Mr. J. F. Baragwanath, of the New Zealand Herald, Auckland, was appointed chairman of the Parliamentary Press Gallery at its annual meeting yesterday, and Mr. K. M. Poulton, of the Evening Post, Wellington, is vice-chairman, according to a Press Association message. The Duke of Atholl, whose death was announced in a cable message from London, was born in 1871 and succeeded his father, the seventh duke, in 1902. He served in Egypt and on the Nile, in South Africa, and in Gallipoli, retiring with a brevet majority. In 1918-20 he was Lord High Commissioner to the Church of Scotland.
