AIR-RAID SHELTERS
CHAIN ALuNG COASTS OF EUROPE (Ruud. 8.30 p.m.) London, March 16. Tens of thousands of foreign workers are building gigantic air-raid shelters for German warships along the Atlantic Coast to Hitler’s personal specifications. It is part of a chain of mammoth buildings which a labour corps is erecting along the Continent’s coastline. The first part consists of huge gun emplacements, entrenchments pill-boxes and a network of strategic roads for the purpose of protecting st not only from sea-borne invasion but against parachutist attacks from the rear. This part of the work is already finished.
