RAIDED BY U-BOAT
AMERICAN DEFENCE BASE New York, March 14, British authorities disclosed that an enemy submarine attacked Castries Harbour. St. Lucia, on Monday nigh*, damaging two ships and causing slight casualties. The announcement did not reveal whether the Üboat fired shells or torpedoes. St. Lucia is the site of a United States defence base. Castries is the capital of St. Lucia, Brtish West Indies. It is on Carenage Bay and is strongly fortified.
