DEATH AT OHAKUNE

MR. JOHN PARR WEBB (0.C.) Raetihi, March 15. Mr. John Parr Webb passed away suddenly at Oha kune on Tuesday afternoon, at the age of 74 years, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. G. T. Dcaclman. He had been in fairly good health and his sudden death came as a shock io all. Mr. Webb was a very old identity of ill" to \ • by all he came in contact with. In the earlv days of Ohakune he work > i at Goldfinch's sawmill and later went into the carrying business at Ohakune. He had always been a very keen bandsman and the local band had his continuous support for many years, until his departure to Auckland a year or two ago. He was at one time a member of the Ohakune Borough Council and served on that body for quite a number of years. He was also a keen )owler and belonged to ihe Ohakune Club. Mr. Webb took an interest in several other organisations in the town. He was predeceased by his wife a few months ago. He leaves two daughters—Mrs. G. T. Dearlman and Mrs. A. E. Holman- and three sons. Mr. A. Webb (Raetihi), Mr. Harold Webb (Raetihi). and Mr. Jack Webb (WhangareD. The funeral took place at Ohakune on Friday afternoon.
