SAVING WASTE-PAPER
London, March IL The national waste-paner salvage contest, to stimulate collection in every part of Britain of paper for use in the manufacture of munitions has been a conspicuous success. No fewer than 1234 cities, towns and villages partook and the total amount of paper salvaged was 94.421 tons. With
Ihr addition of collections made by inon-competiting local authorities, the grand total for January was more than 100.000 tons a record salvage effort. The conclusion of the co7iitest does not mean that the vitally 1 important task of saving waste paper .is ended. I On the contrary there is an urgent ' need al: munition factories for ever- ; increasing supplies of this potential ; war material. The collection of waste i paper is therefore proceeding with diligence.
