DAMAGE TO GNEISENAU

CAMERA’S EVIDENCE London. March 12. Admira have examined aerial photographs taken in Kiel, of the German battleshin Gneisenau. She in dry dock, and the photographs show her to be considerably damaged. The bows from a ooint right forward of A turret nearly to the stem have been stripped of ; plating, exposing the deck below. This stretches right across the deck of the ship and down one deck, and may have beep carried as far as the waterline. Much is covered by camouflage and temporary plating. Near D turret, some deck plating has been stripped, and on some of the sides plating may have been removed.
