• PROTEST OVER SINKING OF SHIPS (Rec. 7 p.m.) Rio de Janeiro, Mar. 10. The Government has announced that it has been proven that Brazilian ships, the Buaraue and Olinda were sunk by German submarines on February 15 and 18 respectively. Therefore Brazil protested to Germany and demanded satisfaction and due reparations. The Government is also investigating the sinking of the Arabutan off the coast of the United States with a view to determining responsibility for the action. It is noteworthy that the sinking of Brazilian ships in the last war finally !led Brazil to declare war against Germany.
