BRITAIN AND GREECE LEND-LEASE FACILITIES Rugby, March 9. Lend-lease facilities are extended to Greece under The terms of an AngloGreek agreement signed in London today by M. Tsouderos, the Greek Prime Minister, and Mr. Eden, the Foreign Secretary, on behalf of the respective Governments. Provision is made on this basis for the supply by the United Kingdom Govenment to the Greek armed forces of equipment, including war material. In the agreement, which generally concerns the organisation and employment of the Greek armed forces, the two Governments confirm their determination to prosecute the war to a successful conclusion in the closest cooperation. and agree that among the objects of Ihe war are the complete liberation of Greece and the re-estab-lishment of her freedom and independent e. “The two Governments,’ it is stated, “further recognise Ihe importance in the common interest oi maintaining the armed forces ol Greece, and have agreed on the jirinciples on which these forces shall be organised and developed for co-opera-tion with the Allied armed forces." The agreement, which is greatly welcomed by the British Government, shows the importance which the Greek armed forces have now at tained. The greater part of the fleet survived Ihe heavy losses of Ihe war in the Balkans and joined the Mediterranean Fleet under Admiral Cunningham at Alexandria. More naval units are about to be commissioned. The air force, after a period of reequipment and training, is taking part in the operations and reconnaissance against, the Axis forces in Libya.
