MUSTER OF FIRE UNITS

EF FICIENCY TEST ARRANGED As a test of their efficiency when responding to an alarm, all E.P.S. fire units in Wanganui will parade on Saturday afternoon at. their respective posts, assembling later in Cook’s Gardens for a demonstration of the best methods of dealing with incendiary bombs. Units which will parade include the E.P.S. Motor-car Patrol Section, Emergency Fire Service, Fire Brigade Auxiliary Unit, and also the Boys’ Brigade, members of which will act as messengers. The emergency alarm system in Wanganui will not be used on Saturday. As an alternative, on this occasion personnel will leave for their posts immediately they hear the time signal broadcast from 2YA at 2 p.m. When all personnel are assembled al their posts, group leaders will sign a form, giving details of the time taken to muster and dispatch it by messenger to headquarters at Central Fire Station. Certain personnel will be inspected at their stations by the chairman of the Wanganui Fire Board. Mr. G. P. Hawkins, and the superintendent, Mr. N. M. Ross.
