’BITTER SWEET." Noel Coward, known to the screen as both actor and playwright, is represented for the first time as a composer in his operetta. "Bitter Sweet,” which will conclude this evening at the Majestic Theatre, with Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy in the co-starring roles. The film is in Technicolour. Miss MacDonald is seen as Victorian belle Sarah Millick, and Eddy as her Viennese voice teacher, Carl Linden, with whom she elopes on the eve of her wedding to another man. “i’enny Serenade” Irene Dunne and Cary Grant are brilliantly co-starred in Georgc Stevens’ new romantic drama, “Penny Serenade," which opens tomorrow at the Majestic Theatre. Based upon Martha Cheavens’ novel. “Penny Serenade” describes the domestic joys and difficulties of a newspaperman and his wife. In the cast are Beulah Bondi, Edgar Buchanan and Ann Doran.
