Children's Home wrote applying for a renewal of the water supply to the home and the installation of a larger pipe from, the main to the boundary. — Deferred pending a report from the overseer. Nielsen Bros, wrote tendering the sum of £6O in respect of repairs to the steam roller.—The tender was accepted. Marton Plunket Society was granted permission to hold a shop day in Broadway on March 3, 1942. ■ The Hon. D. Wilson, associate Minister of National Service, wrote to the Mayor, asking him to accept and con'vey to lhe full personnel of the Marjton P.S. organisation an assurance lof lav Government’s congratulations and of its appreciation of the voluntary work which has achieved such a high degree of efficiency. The Mayors recommendation that the tender of J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation for the lease of the Civic Theatre for another seven years was ’approved. i The Mayor was given authority to impose restrictions of hosing of gar-1 1 dens. i Mr. G.
