UPPER ST. HILL STREET
Sir. I thank you for publishing my letter in your issue of 27th inst. 1 now notice That Ihe City Corporation employees have been at work on the {uithway adjoining the Technical School grounds, doing what was at !ca>t a moral responsibility of th<* »o.trusters. The improvement is rrmarkanir. mil. unforlunatg’y. compared with the plots in front of the residences there, the work of the corporation employees, good as It hahet n mor» than ever emphasises the had state the portion referred to has neon allowed to get into. However thanks to the corporation a great :m--piovement has been effected and th* plot has be**n suffi iently cleaned up to give no excuse for the trustees to aliow t to get into such a disgraceful state again The grass has been sufficiently cut to enable the college lawn mower to »>e regularly used on it so that It will eventually be in keeping with that portion maintained h. the adjoining residents and add io the credit of the street instead of l>ein _• allowed to again become an eye*Tr? and disgrace to a public institution
If the trustees nf the school would fin time to pay a visit to the place t’ey would then see for themselves
the desirability of maintaining the str<- t adjoining their property in a tidy condition, and which could be doi.t at no ost whatever, beyond the two cr three minutes' time of their gardener once a fortnight and the use of the motor mower at present used : \ him several times a week to cut the grass on th«* adjoining playing held -Yours, etc., “RESIDENT." Wanganui. Nov. 28. 1941.
