REGENT THEATRE

"SIS HOPKINS.” A picture that has been described as the gayest, maddest piece of fun to come out of Hollywood in a long, long time is Republic's merry musical, “Sis Hopkins,” starring Judy Canova, affectionately known to picture patrons as "The Scatterbrain Girl.” It concludes to-day at the Regent Theatre. “Tight Shoes.” Sparkling comedy is provided in the Universal production, “Tight Shoes,” which heads the double-feature programme for to-morrow at the Regent Theatre. The story deals with hilarious misadventures of Brod Crawford, who is seen in the main comedy role, after he has purchased a pair of shoes a size too small. He goes to the races and soon discovers that his feet are very painful. He backs a horse named Feet First with his employer's money, and when the horse does not win he is placed in an awkward position. Troubles trail him, and he is enmeshed in the crooked dealings of a gang to which he belongs. In the meantime, John Howard, who is east as Jimmy Rupert, becor.Ls innocently involved in the crooked business of the same gang. In addition to John Howard, Brod Crawford and Miss Binnie Barnes, the other roles are all well played. Some of them are especially bright and clever.
