BLOOD-STAINED HAMMER DISCOVERED

£5O RECOVERED BUT £lOO STILL MISSING (Press Assn.) Auckland, Sept. 29. A blood - stained claw-hammer, which is believed to have been used in a vicious attack on a factory manager, Mr. Eric Lloyd Riley, when the premises of E. L. Riley, clothing manufacturers, in Newmarket, were burgled by three persons on Sunday afternoon, was found by police near the scene of the struggle. Detectives also recovered a bank bag containing £5O in the factory, but over £lOO is still missing, while small sums also were found to have been taken from two other offices in the same building. Mr. Riley's condition to-night was still serious. As a result of extensive inquiries by a large number of detectives three suspec.'s were arrested late to-day. Two of th- rnstierts are juveniles.
