WAITOTARA Mrs. 1. D. Pa: sons was a visitor to Wanganui last week for the golf tournament. Mrs. J. C. Wickham and Mrs. A. McPhail. Wanganui, attended the birthday party of the Waitotara W.D.F.U. last Ihursday. Miss D. Leahy was the guest ot Miss F. Benefield, Wanganui, for the week-end. Mis. Stevens, Stratlord, has been the guest of Mrs. Nelson Verry. Mrs. Gorrell, Palmerston North, was a visitor to Waitotara recently. Mrs. Willis is spending a holiday at Palea. HUNTERVILLE Drs. L. M. and J. Burnett leave Hunterville at the end of the month to live in Wellington. Dr. Gordon Whitta and Dr. Elizabeth Whitta, of Wanganui, arrive in Hunterville shortly to take over the practice of Drs. L. M. and J. Burnett. Mr. and Mrs. N. McKay, of Hastings, are visiting Hunterville and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Coleman, Silverhope Road. WAVERLEY. Miss Eileen Oliver ig spending a few weeks in Wellington as the guest of Mrs. N. Northcott. Mrs. F. Middleton, Frankton, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. A. Buttar. MARTON Mrs. W. Raine. district lady officer of St. John Ambulance, left Marton yesterday for a month’s holiday at Eastbourne, Wellington. Mr. F. Mairs, postmaster at Marton, resumed duties yesterday after a month's holiday, which was pent in Patea and Levin. At the annual meeting of the Rangitikei Cricket Association on Monday, Mr. H. F. Arkwright (president) referred to the sad bereavement Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Marshall had suffered in the loss of their two sons—Hugh and George. The former was an outstanding club and representative player, whose loss to cricket in Rangitikei will be severely felt. The president also referred to the death of the late Mr. Alfred Crooke, a foundation member and a loyal supporter of the association. The meeting expressed its deepest sympathy to their relatives by standing in silence.
