MISSIONARY AUXILIARY

’j ne monthly meeting of Trinity Ladies’ Missionary Auxiliary (Wanganui) was held in the church parlour. There was a good attendance. The president, Mrs. Whitlock, presided. The meeting opened with the singing of a hymn and Miss Dingle led in prayer. The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Ogg. A new member. Mrs. Peters, was introduced and a special welcome was given to Mrs. Norman Jones, Mrs. Howels, Mrs. Hicks and Mrs. Ands. Mrs. Ale read an interesting letter from Sister Nicholls. The president presented beautiful bouquets of flowers to the grandmothers nresent for their faithful attendance at the meetings. Mrs. Lewis Bassett thanked the president for her kind thought. The visitors for the afternoon were Mrs. Fretwell and Mrs. Bebarfald from the Church of Christ. Mrs. Fretwell gave a talk on the missionary work of their church, especially in Africa, her subject being “Christ the Light of the World.” The president thanked Mrs. Fretwell for her talk. Both visitors were given posies of flowers. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs. Sedon. whose youngest son had met with an accident. Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Murrell were in

charge of the cake and produce stall. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Shearman and helpers. Mrs. Bates was the accompanist. A special hymn was sung, followed by a prayer for the nation.
