GOVERNMENT BUSES
IN OPPOSITION TO RAIL CRITICISM AT DUNEDIN (Press Assn.) Dunedin, Aug. 11. Strong criticism of the Governaction in further restricting petrol allowance. of motorists dependant upon their cars for a livelihood, while the Government bus services were still operating parallel to railway lines and carrying out unnecessary special trips, was expressed at a meeting of the committee of the Automobile Association (Otago) to-night. A resolution on these lines was carried. It was decided to urge also that where bus services run parallel to a railway for the latter part of the journey only they be allowed to operate only from the most convenient railway station near the place where they first meet the rail.
