HE RIDES FOR WAR
JOCKEY’S NEW MOUNT London, Aug. 8. The war has given George Macpherson, one of England's best-known steeplechase jockeys, a new type ol mount. He is a test driver of the new Covenan.er tanks. Among the workers in the factory turning out the Covenanter tanks are men and women who, at one time, followed such diverse occupations as lion-tamer, manicurist, prison warden, chimney-sweep, circus clown, hat designer. butler, dental mechanic, butcher, and shopwalker. The Covenanter tank has a top speed of 40 miles an hour and a weight of 13 tons. —U.P.A.
