GREATER NOTICE TAKEN OF THEM GOOD IMPRESSION AMONG FOREIGN OBSERVERS (Reed. 9.20 p.m.i London, Aug. 9. Reuters’ special correspondent in Moscow says the sober tone o£ Soviet communiques, and their mentioning principal place names, has created a good i—.pression among foreign observers. Greater weight is attached to the Soviet "balance sheet" than the German claims, which have so frequently proved extravagant and, if hall true, make a continuation of Soviet resistance inexplicable. Observers are impressed with the candid Russian admissions of losses, which are regarded as a sign of strength.—U.P.A.
Budenny's resistance Is everywhere formidable. The Wilhelmstrasse appears to be very confident that this movement will' show that the German army has not lost its ability to rapidly overrun vast areas. —U.P.A.
