CLOSING DOWN TO-iviORROW COMMANDANT’S LETTER OF APPRECIATION Personnel at the Wanganui Military Camp leave to-morrow and. for the time being, the camp will be closed except for the presence of a quartermaster and small staff in charge of stores. Lieutenant-Colonel J. L. McAlister, M.C., camp commandant, is greatly appreciative of the help he has received in Wanganui and he expresses this in the following letter:— Dear Sir, —Before leaving Wanganui I should like to take this opportunity of thanking, through your columns, the many citizens of Wanganui who have worked for the welfare of the troops and have in many cases thrown their homes open to visiting soldiers. The various public and private organisations which have worked so cheerfully and generously will be thanked "by letter; but there are manv private citizens to whom I am indebted, and whom I can reach only through the courtesy of your paper. Thanking you and your staff for your own efforts on behalf of the caorp personnel. j. l. mcalister.
