ELDERLY MANS DEATH
COLLAPSED ON TOWN WHARF
WELL-KNOWN W ATF.KSIDER While wheeling a barrow on the Town Wharf at about 6.30 o’clock last evening, Mr. Harry Dixon, a wellknown waterside worker in Wanganui, collapsed and died. He was a single man. aged about 60, and lived at 64 Bell Street. Mr. Dixon was assisting with the unloading of cargo from the coastal motor-ship Breeze, which arrived early yesterday morning from southern ports, via Picton. Il is understood that he had shown no signs during the day of feeling unwell. A doctor was summoned immediately, but Mr. Dixon was dead before medical assistance could arrive. Mr. Dixon was a member of the Wanganui Waterside Workers’ Union for many years.
