NON-ESSENTIAL INDUSTRY
REDUCTION IN U.S.A. STATE’S RECENT ORDER (Recd. 7.40 p.m.) Washington, July 20. The Office of Production Management has tentatively ordered reductions to 50 per cent, in <he production of automobiles, refrigerators and laundry machines in the interest of the defence programme in the coming year. Similar action is being taken in regard to other industries, primarily air conditioning, heating and cooking equipment, and household appliances. —U.P.A.
