TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY

MEMORIAL PARK ROUND MR. SAVAGE S TOMB (Press Assn.) Auckland, July 18. A proposal that a tree-planting ceremony shall be held on Arbor Day. August 6. in the Memorial Park surrounding the tomb of the late Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, at Bastion Point, has been received by the Mayor, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, from the Under-Secret ary for Internal Affairs. Mr. J. W. Heenan, who states that the plan has been approved by the acting-Prijne Minister, the Hon. W. Nash, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry. Probably Mr. Nash and ether members of Cabinet will take part in the ceremony. and members of Parliament, represen"atives of local authorities, and old friends of Mr. Savage will also be given the opportunity of planting trees.
