INCREASING BURDEN ON LOCAL BODIES W AITOTARA COUNTYS SHARE “This year the Wanganui Hospital Board has increased its levy by £763, making the levy for 1940-41 £3650.” stated Mr. W. Morrison (chairman) in his annual report' to the Waitotara County Council yesterday. “Some legislators were of the opinion that local bodies would, at the advent of the Social Security Fund, obtain relief by having to make lower contributions. This, however, is not the case,” said Mr. Morrison. “It should not be forgotten that farmers also are heavy contributors to the Social Security Fund and, being the most healthy section of the community, do not require much hospital treatment.
