SOLDIERS’ PARCELS

CHAMPION'S GOLF MATCH A sporting event of great interest to general sporting public and golfers in particular, has been arranged for Saturday next, on the Patea golf links. Mr. J. P. Hornabrook, New Zealand amateur and open champion, has agreed to play a match and give a demonstration of golf shots, etc., for the benefit of patriotic funds. Mr. Hornabrook will be matched with W. G. Sutton, a prominent golfer, also M. Casey and J. G. Edwards, top players in the local club. The match will be a four-ball, played in conjunction with a medal round, and Mr. Hornabrook’s demonstration of various golf shots will round-off a particularly interesting game.
