THE WANGANUI SALE FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S REPORT “To a good attendance we offered 6000 sheep at the Wanganui stock sale yesterday,” report Freeman R. Jackson and Co. The bulk of the yarding was sold. Top wether lambs sold well, but medium and cull lambs were down. A light yarding of fat sheep were slightly above last week’s rates. A small yarding of fat cattle sold firm at recent rates. WAVERLEY EWE FAIR SUCCESSFUL AUCTION The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., report having held a most successful sale of all classes of sheep at the Waverley Ewe Fair. Some 3000 ewes were forward, together with a fair entry of lambs and wethers. A full representation of buyers was present from most districts and a spirited sale resulted in a general clearance of all classes. Values may be quoted as follows: — Two-tooth Romney ewes (a good line), 32s 7d; 2-tooth ewes (Ryeland cross), 29s 2d; other sales of 2-tooth ewes, 28s; 4-tooth maiden ewes, 31s; 6-tooth ewes, 27s Id and 26s 9d; 4-year-old ewes, 22s 4d, 225; 5 and 6-year-old ewes, 16s, 15s 8d; forward condition 4-tooth wethers, 21s 3d; white faced wether lambs, 16s 6d down to 15s; top well-bred ewe lambs, 225; smaller ewe lambs, 17s to 17s 6d. In the cattle section some 24-year-old P.A. heifers were forward.
