SEAMAN BROKE SAFETY REGULATIONS SAID HE HAD A CREW PASS. [ Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, Feb. 19. Matthew’ Patrick Byrne, aged 3!» seaman, pleaded guilty before Mr. J A. Morling, S.M., to a charge under the Shipping Safety Emergency Regulations. 1940, in that he deceived a constable by pretending he was in possession of a crew pass for a ship berthed in Auckland.
Mr. Morling, in imposing seven days’ imprisonment, said the regulations w’ere too important to be played fast and loose with.
