NORWAY NOW AN INTEGRAL PART OF IT SPEECH BY NAZI SECRET POLICE CHIEF (Bz Telegraph—Prws Association -Copyright) STOCKHOLM, Feb. 5. The visiting chief of the Gestapo (Nazi secret police), Herr H. Himmler, in a speech in Trondheim (Norway) on the subject of Greater Germany, declared that this henceforth would include Norway as an integral part. Himmler distributed arms among hirdmen as a present from Hitler. His new secret police have already arrested 100 anti-Quislingists in Western Norway. A German appeal for funds for building hostels for German soldiers in Norway is remarked upon by all correspondents of neutral newspapers in Berlin. According to press messages from Zurich hostels are being built from the Cape to Ciso. Hitler has spent 1,000,000 marks on them and public societies have subscribed a further 3,000,000 marks. More is to be raised by public collections, the goal aimed at being 12,000,000 marks. In view of Hitler’s twice-repeated declaration that the war with Britain would be concluded this year the building of hostels on such costly scale and—by implication—of such dur ability is considered to be evidence of Hitler’s intention, not to withdraw soldiers from Norway after the war. Alternatively, it may be that the Fuhrer envisages the possibility of a postponement of victory celebrations.
