ON TOWARDS BARCE
BRITISH WALK-OVER NOT A SHOT FIRED ALL DAY LIBYANS LOOT GUBA [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received Feb. 7, 10 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 6. The British to-night are streaming ten miles beyond Cyrene tow'ards Barce. This phase at present looks like a complete walk-over for the Army of the Nile. Not a shot was fired all day. Powerful resistance was expected four miles beyond Guba, but, dspite anti-tank trenches and a double row of land mines, there was no sign of opposition. The Times special correspondent at Guba says that ugly scenes occurred between the retreat of the Italians and the arrival of the British. The Libyans, loathing Italians, swarmed in, looting, burning and destroying.
