AN EXCELLENT CARD PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAY (Special to "Chronicle.") AUCKLAND, Feb. 7. The Auckland provincial circuit will be resumed at Rotorua on Saturday and Monday with the local fixture and with fine fields accepted for an excellent meeting seems assured. The course will be in fine condition and betting conducted under the win and place system. With several defections at acceptance time there is still left a useful field in the Rotorua Cup, although with the topweights out Greek Queen is left to carry number one cloth. She is a useful stayer and this class will suit her. The Dozer was unlucky in the Matamata Cup and will be prominent, while on the score of weight Foxsen may be the most, likely improver on recent running. Forest Acre is improving and of the many on the minimum chances are given Pern, who won the Matamata Cup impressively, and Erlick and Queen City. The latter filly has been racing without much dash and may reveal improvement with no weight and a distance of ground to get over. Perhaps Foxsen and Greek Queen will prove superior. Quite a good lot remain in the sprint, the Tourist Handicap, and on recent performances those with chances would appear to be Merry Vaals, Aero King, Orate, Duvach, Augment, Miss Te Koura and Noitara, while the two tops, Llangollen and Corato. will appreciate an easier track. Duvach and Merry Vaals are favoured. All the minor events have filled well and included are a few horses from the south who are to cover the forthcoming circuit of the more important fixtures at Te Rapa, Te Aroha and Pukekohe. Horses favoured for their engagements to-morrow are the following:— 12.15: Pohutu High-weight.—Happy Ending, War Cloud, Miss Bridge. 12.55: Waimangu Stakes.—Bevace, Natal. Prudent. 1.35: Mokoia Hack.—Penzance, Court Favourite, Hunter’s Rose. 2.20: Rotorua Cup—Foxsen, The Dozer, Pern. 3.10: Hot Springs Hack.—Bambury Cross, Hunter’s Rose, Golden Pam. 3.45: Geyser Hack.—Mendelssohn, Karatoki, Lady Acushla. 4.30: Arawa Park Stakes.—Kadina, Babrow, Teacony. 5.15: Tourist Handicap.—Augment, Duvach.
