PARAPARA SPORTS
A POPULAR GATHERING (Own Correspondent.) Despite unfavourable weather, the annual Parapara Sports Club’s meeting held recently at Mr. J. R. McLean’s property, Omakukuru Road was successful. The ground was in excellent condition and the scheduler events, which comprised mainly hors c competitions, provided bright entertainme.it which has become typical ol this popular annual gathering. The honours in the chief horse events were won by Mrs. L. F. Strange, of Raetihi. The war exerted an inevitable effect in decreasing both the number o! entries received and the spectators.
