Some of the costumes to be worn by the different teams taking part in the girls’ marching display next week are being shown in the corner window at McGruer’s. Displayed on models the costumes, in their military styles and various colourings, look most effective. Leading men are always supposed to be taller than the leading lady and many a film hero has his shoes built up a couple of inches so that he appears to be taller on the screen than the heroine. It would seem that film actors will be chosen in future for their height, or for as long as taste demands tall beauties to play opposite them. Film darlings of the past were decidedly small in statue and many of the screen’s heroines are still the little type. Mothers! Have you planned a career for your daughter? Why not have her taught dressmaking at the "Hollywood School of Dressmaking,” 144 Victoria Ave. (near McGreur’s). Enrolments now being taken.’
