WANGANUI BOWLING

INTERRUPTION BY RAIN SATURDAY’S RESUUTS For the first Saturday in two months rain interrupted play in the Wanganui Bowling Centre on Saturday, and players enjoyed only a few ends before a steady downpour put an end to the day's outdoor activities. The greens snould benefit from the rain.

WANGANUI EAST CLUB On Saturday six rinks and also a junior rink from Waverley paid a visit to the Wanganui East Club to participate in a friendly contest. The visitors were welcomed by the president, Mr. A. W. Jones. When some three ends had been played rain set in. This prevented a continuation of the games, and players adjourned to the pavilion for friendly intercourse, after which afternoon tea provided by the ladies was served. Before leaving on the return journey, Mr. E. C. Dallison, president of the Waverley Club, returned thanks for hospitality. Wanganui East players are reminded that entries for the Gordon pairs must be made at once. Entries are also being taken from members wishing to participate in the visit from Oroua Club on Anniversary Day, January 22.
