GUARANTEED PRICE FOR DAIRY PRODUCE
FARMERS WANT REVISION “We need an increase in the guaranteed price to cover all these increased costs,” said Mr. J. Patterson (Fordell), speaking at the annual meeting of the Okoia Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., in Wanganui yesterday morning. Mr. A. There was a commission which recommended Is 6d. That ought to do as something to go on. Mr. Hawortn said that the policy of the boaco was to get what ws» recommended by the tribunal which enquired into the industry, plus costs which had been added since then. That would mean about a Id per lb. Mr. H. Smith (Maxwell): Any increase in price means getting money from Home (England), doesn't it? Well, 'I think it is a bad time to ask. Let us get the war over first, then call a special meeting.
The matter was left m tnc hands of the Dairy Board.
