One of our fighters was shot down, but the pilots escaped by parachute. No bombs were dropped. GIBRALTAR HEAVILY BOMBED Received Aug. 1, 4.15 p.m. MADRID, July 31. Gibraltar was heavily bombed early this morning, explosions being heard far inland.
