CUSTOMS REVENUE IN WANGANUI
PETROL RETURN FALLS HIGH SALES TAX YIELD REVEALED The total collection by the Customs Department in Wanganui for the month of July shows a decrease in comparison with the figures for July of last year. Receipts in 1939 totalled £17,385, and for July of this year £16,202. Decreases were recorded in customs and petrol, but increases were revealed in excise on beer, sales tax, and tyre duty. The following are the detailed figures:—
