WAR AND PROPHECY
Sir,—ln view of the question many are asking viz., Will the present War end at Armageddon? Permit me to answer no, for the reason that a lot has yet to happen before this event takes place. In the first place the “Church,” which is Christ’s body, composed of those now being called out from every kindred, tribe and nation, will be removed from this , earth. Then there will yet appear two world empires before Christ comes again. Dictatorships come out of chaos. The people gladly accept a dictator if he can only do sometmng for them. World chaos could easily produce a world dictator. Already three are on the scene—Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin. The stage now being set for the rise and coming into power of the fourth world empire, out of which will rise a fifth. The fourth Empire was not Rome, and neither will it be a restoration of the Roman Empire and the Papacy. This is looked for and taught by many, and every scrap of news is rushed into print in support of this theory.
The iron kingdom, symbolised by the legs of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream image is yet future. It will be followed by another (the fifth) which will bring upon Israel the most terrible affliction that people have ever known, i.e., “Jacob’s Trouble.” But the days of the fifth kingdom are literally numbered when it breaks the covenant. In 1260 days it will be ground to pieces and replaced by a kingdom set up by God which shall never be destroyed (see Daniel 2:45 and Revelations 11:15). This is God’s interpretation of the king's dream. If all ministers, pastors, teachers and Bible students rightly divide the “Word of Truth,” confusion, doubt and misunderstanding as to Bible phophecy and its interpretation in relation to present world affairs would vanish.—l am, etc., C. E. KNIGHT. Evangelist. 118 Grey’s Avenue, Auckland.
