Mrs. L. Kilsby, Levin, was a recent visitor to Wanganui. Miss M. Rule, Waitomo, is visiting Wanganui. Mrs. L. S. Moore, Frankton, visited Wanganui yesterday. Miss Doreen Nicholas, Wanganui, is tpending a holiday in New Plymouth. Mrs. A. K. Collier, Misses J. and H. Collier, were Taihape visitors to Wan;anui early in the week. Mrs. R. J. Drummond, who has been spending some weeks in Wellington, tas returned to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Jeffs, Wanganui, accompanied by their daughters, Misses Peggy and Carol Jeffs, were visitors to Wellington for the wedding of their son, Mr. Jack Jeffs, and Miss | Phyllis Linklater on Saturday. Dr. and Mrs. Reo Fortune, formerly of New Zealand, are now in California, United States, after three years’ residence in China. Mrs. Fortune was formely Miss Eileen Pope, a teacher at the Wellington Giris' College. Dr. Fortune was professor of anthropology at Lingnan Un.ver me, near Canton, and he and his wife lived within sight and sound of Japanese bombing raids on the city.
