TRAPPED IN DANCE HALL

200 NEGRO MEN AND WOMEN BURNED TO DEATH. Received April 25, 6.30 p.m. NEW YORK, April 24; According to a Natchez (Mississippi) message, 200 negro men and women were burned to death when flames, racing through decorations consisting of dry Spanish moss, trapped them in a single-doored frame dance hall, the windows of which were boarded up. The coroner said the bodies were "piled up like cord-wood.” Five negroes were arrested on suspicion that they started the fire as a result of a drunken quarrel.
