SAND-BANK ABOVE DUBLIN STREET BRIDGE VIEW OF MR. G. McGREGOR The view that the huge sand-bank formed above Dublin Street Bridge will cause serious erosion of the right hank of the Wanganui River • not attended to at once was expressed by Mr. G. McGregor, when interviewed :it the Wanganui Hospital yesterday. In 1913 Mr. McGregor said that he drew the City Council’s attention to the erosion of the river bank below the Aramoho Bridge. Later, after a high flood in 1915, he also drew the council’s attention, pointing out the abnormal growth of the sand along the Wanganui East side of the river and suggested the building of a groyne on the right bank to deflect the current on to the sand bank.
