Contributions to the Government for war purposes include:— £lO,OOO from Dominion Motors foi the duration and six months. £lO,OOO from McKenziie’s Department Stores, Ltd., Wellington, duration and 12 months. £2500 from John Chambers and Son, Auckland, duration. £2OOO from the Canterbury Steamship Company, duration and six months. £2OOO from the board of directors of G. H. Scales Wellington, duration and 12 months. Seven contributions of £lOOO for the duration and six or 12 months are: Abbott, Armstrong and How ?y, Auckland; Hallenstein Bros., Dunedin; Andreae and Company, Christchurch; J. R. Tayler, Manutahi; F. R. and E. H. Picot, Wellington; Allen, Son, and McClure, Dunedin; Radford and Co., Wellington. The Ashburton Club and Mutual School of Arts has forwarded £5OO to the Government as an interestfree loan for the duration and six months. N.Z. INSURANCE COY. Mr. Nash received to-day a cheque for £20,000, representing a cash gift towards the war expenses fund from the New Zealand Insurance Company, Auckland. This generous action, he said, was much appreciated and the Government sincerely thanks the company for its splendid gift.
