CANADIAN ELECTIONS

LIBERAL MAJORITY LIKELY LOSS OF SEATS EXPECTED Received March 19, 6.5 p.m. OTTAWA, March 18. Observers still predict that the Liberals will be re-elected, due to Dr. Manion’s inability to convince the people that he is able to provide a reasonably efficient administration rather than enthusiasm for Mr. Mackenzie King. The Toronto Globe-Maii says it is the most unsatisfactory election within memory, and voters were confused and muddled. The Liberals are prepared to lose at least 20 of 56 seats in Toronto and at least . half of 11 New Brunswick. They also expect Dr. Manion to gain in Nova Scotia, Manitoba and British Columbia. However, as only 10 seats of the 65 in the Liberal stronghold of Quebec are doubtful, they are confident that Dr. Manion has no hope of securing a majority.
