CHECK—HOLSTON
The Ing:.sire Street Baptist Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Boxing Day between Gladys Linda, younger daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. F. Houston, Aramono, and Jack Raymond, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Check, Aramoho. The church was decorated with pink hydiangects and white lilies, by liicnds of the bride. The Rev. E. Nichoils officiated at the ceremony, and Miss Thelma Cornish played the wedding music. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a lovely gown of white satin, cut on closefitting lines. The ruched bodice featured a heait shaped neckline and the sleeves were very full at lhe shoulder and tapered to points over the hands. At the back were tiny satin buttons to the waistline, where a panel flared out to form a long scalloped train. A white embroidered tulle veil was worn and was caught to the head with a halo of pearls and orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of Christmas lilies, carnations, sweet peas, and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Ellen Earland, who wore a dainty frock of cyclamen taffeta cut on similar lines to the bride’s frock, cut with full puffed sleeves, and the hem trimmed with an edging of inching. A necklace of pearl.., was also worn and was the gift of the bridegroom. She wore silver shoes and a silver halo, and carried a shower bouquet of godecia, carnations, and maidenhair fern. Mr. Robert Howard was best man and the usher was the brides brother, Mr. F. Houston. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by the bridegroom’s small niece, Dierdre Anderson. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Rendezvous where Mrs. Houston received the guests wearing a navy ensemble, witn matching accessories. She wore a shoulder spray of red roses. Mrs. Check assisted her, wearing a black ensemble and matching accessories. Her shoulder spray was of pink sweet peas. For travelling the bride chose a navy and pink sheer frock under a pink tailored coat, navy accessories, and carried a black fur stole, the gilt of the bridegroom.
