WANGAEHL VALLEY ROAD <i(>\ ERNMENT SUBSIDY Advice that the Government was agreeable to the reopening of the top end of the Wangaehu Valley Road was received at yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui County Council. It was reported that the approximate cost of the work was £4OOO and that the subsidy would be at the rale of £3 for £l. The Wangaehu Valley Road has been blocked since the floods in February, 1936 Fire At Imlay. Motor-cyclist Injured When his motor-cycle was involved in an accident with a motor-car at tne corner of Somme Parade and Roberts Avenue at 6.15 p.m. yesterday, Thomas Cuzman, of 15 Roberts Avenue, received a fractured thigh. He was taken to the Wanganui Public Hospital by the St. John Free Ambulance and is reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
