HUNTERVILLE PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE
The first meeting of this committee was held on Monday evening in the Town Hall. There were present Messrs. R. A. Gordon (chair), Petrie, Snadden, D. D. Simpson, Dr. Burnett, Jones, Toulmin, Thompson, McNab, Sutton, Stratford, Smith, Lynch, Donovan, Pickford and Hurley. Mr. E. J. Hurley was appointed secretary and treasurer. It was decided that the recently formed Soldiers' Welfare Committee is now to become the Social unit of the Patriotic Purposes Committee. The following were the committee: —Messrs. E. Pickard, J. B. M'cKnight, A. J. Petrie and A. Henwood. It was decided to hold a flag day in Huntervifie on Saturday, December 9. The price of the flags is to be one shilling each. The committee to organise flag day is Messrs. Pickford, McKnight, Gordon, Hen wood, Hurley, Petrie, Donovan, Stratford, D. Cameron and W. C. Smith. The committee is to meet on the first Monday in each month, or as occasion may make it necessary.
