OBITUARY

MR. GEORGE O’HARA The death has occurred at Waiuku of Mr. George O’Hara, aged 59, who was a member of a well-known Papatoetoe family. He was for some time engaged with the family in carrying on a blacksmithing and coachbuilding business at Papatoetoe and Otahuhu. In the Great War he served in Egypt with the Auckland Mounted Rifles. Mr. O'Hara is survived by his wife and two sons. MR. S. CLIFTON BINGHAM Well known in Ma.Lnic circles throughout New Zealand, Mr. Sydney Clifton Bingham died at Christchurch, in his 78th. year. In addition to other high olfices. Mr. Bingham was a past grand master of the New Zealand Grand Lodge of Freemasons, lie was one of he three 33rd. degree Masons in the Dominion, the other two being Viscount Galway and Colonel Eason, of Wellington. Mi. Bingham was In-spector-General, 33rd. Degree, for the South island. In addition to his manyMasonic duties, Mr. Bingham also took part in Canterbury local body affairs. MR. C. L. STEVENSON The death has occurred of Mr. Charles Lanham Stevenson, a well known Auckland business man who for the past 28 yeaj-s has peen a resident of Devonport. Mr. Stevenson, who was born in East Ginge, West Hendred, Berkshire, arrived in the Dominion in 1899, after having been several years engaged prospecting in Queensland. In 1903 he founded the firm ot Charles L. Stevenson, Ltd. Mr. Stevenson is survived by his wife. MR. PETER F. WATSON The death has occurred of Mr. Peter F. Watson, a director of A. and G. Price, Ltd., Auckland, and the second son of the late Mr. John Watson, who was managing director of the firm. Well known in bowling and Masonic circles, Mr. Watson, in his youngci days at Thames. . was a prominent cricketci. He leaves two sons and a daughter, his wife having predeceased his 10 years ago.
