“GARDEN OF THE MOON.” “Garden of the Moon,” the Warner Bros.’ newest musical, with Pat O'Brien, Margaret Lindsay and John Payne in the top roles, continues screening to-day at the Regent Theatre. The picture is based on the recent Saturday Evening Post serial of the same name. The story deals with a hot and tricky feud between a hotel manager, played by O'Brien, and an impertinent young band leader, played by Payne, who, in this picture, makes his debut as a singing, romantic star. Five new tunes by Johnny Mercer, Harry Warren and Al Dubin are introduced. Joe Venuti’s swing band furnishes the captivating melody. An unusual murder mystery is offered in “The Patient in Room 18,” which is the associate feature. Lance O'Leary (Patrie Knowles), a private detective, is recuperating from a nervous breakdown in room 18 at a private hospital. During O'Leary's convalescence a wealthy patient is murdered and a valuable supply of radium, with which he is being treated, ia stolen. The detective suspects that the murdered man’s son is responsible, as the young man has failed in business. During their investigations, th* police discover the body of the hospital superintendent concealed in a bedroom wardrobe. Among the supporting players in the film are Ann Sheridan, Eric Stanley, and John Ridgeley.
