SHOOTING
TURAKINA RIFLE CLUB The opening of the season and presentation of trophies won during last season took place on Saturday. The first competition for the Lethbridge Cup was to have been fired but had to be abandoned on account of continuous rain. The president, Mr. C. C. Baldwin, presented the trophies as follows: Mr. J. Kelly won the K.P. Cup outright and also the Grant Cup, which carried with it the club championship. Mr. J. Kelly offered to donate a cup in place of the one he won outright, which was accepted with thanks by the club. Mr. R. Wilkie won the Lethbridge Cup and Mr. H. Goile the late president’s trophy. A cup was presented to D. Wilkie, a boy 12 years old, for his meritorious performance of registering 100 at 300, 500 and 600 yards.
The next competition for the Lethbridge Cup will be fired next Saturday.
