Something is wrong somewhere. Such figures as these cannot be the result of physical defects from accidents. They must be the result of years of wrong feeding. Slums and overcrowding cannot be blamed, and yet ill-health is Su general! Giie man in every two rejected as temporarily unfit is too high a percentage for a country which boasts of its fresh air and sunshine. As a man eats, so is he. Women buy and cook the food for the nation and are responsible for the health or their families. They arc to blame Joi the ill-health ot our community.
During the Great War the women of Denmark changed the type of food which they served to their families so effectively that in spite of wartime difficulties they succeeded in reducing the death rate and the incidence of infectious sickness to a fraction of what it had been before. What the women of Denmark did, the women of New Zealand can do and they are determined to do it.
