INCREASED WAGES DEMANDED
AUSTRALIAN SEAMEN'S UNION Received Oct. 31. 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 31. A demand for a 20 per cent, increase in wages has been made by the Seamen’s Union and other maritime organisations for all members of crews in inter-State ships and vessels serving to New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Australia which are controlled by the Commonwealth Navigation Act About 1500 employees are involved.
